Green Launch is currently exploring the velocity maximum of a one stage light-gas combustion system. With a combustion chamber containing light-gas fuel, oxidizer and multiple igniters, launch projectile velocities of 2.97 km/sec (Mach 9) have been achieved. The precision gas injection scheme pioneered by Green Launch last year opens the potential for even higher velocities in the coming months.
